Flexible Metal Corner Tape

The flexible metal corner tape, namely corner tape with steel, is flexible paper drywall tape with galvanized steel strips or aluminum strips to effectively protect corners in houses and buildings from wear and tear. The tape is easier to use than traditional metal corner beads. Our steel corner tape is packaged in rolls making it easier to merchandise and transport. It can be used on archways and curves, on any inside or outside angle.

1. Use a knife to cut the flexible metal angle strip into one of two strips, score and bend. The distance between cuts depends on how small the radius you want to achieve. Apply a thick layer of joint compound to a depth of 1/8 inch, covering both sides of the corner as well. With the metal facing the wall, fold the tape over the center edge and press firmly into the joint compound.

2. After the corners are embedded, use a flexible metal corner tape cutter to remove excess compound. After the first coat is dry, sand lightly and apply topcoat, feathering the edge two inches from the edge of the first coat. If desired, apply a second coat 6 inches - 10 inches wide on each side of the corner. Once dry, sand lightly if necessary. Wide galvanized steel strips act as guides, ensuring that both the "inside" and "outside" corners are required to be at straight, reinforced angles.

NOTE: Apply tape only at the recommended temperature for the joint cement being used. Store tape in a closed carton in a closed, dry shelter at normal room temperature. Please use caulking agent when using on metal walls. Do not use acidic adhesives! ! !
