Hinge
The hinge (hinge) is a key component of the whole house customization and is used as a connector between the cabinet door and the cabinet body, providing critical support and connection. How the door opens and closes, they decide. The directivity of the hinge is very strong, and there is always a hinge that can meet the opening and closing effect of all the door panels you can think of at present, so if you want to understand the hinge, you must first understand the connection between the door panel and the cabinet and understand the opening and closing of the door panel.
Hinge construction
The hinge consists of a hinged head (hinge cup), a body (connecting shaft), and a base.
The common door panel installation on the market is divided into three types, full cover, half cover, and no cover (embedded).
Full, half, and not refer to the area of the door panel covering the side panel, and the corresponding hinges can be called full-cover hinges, half-cover hinges, and uncovered (embedded) hinges.
According to the change characteristics of the hinge connection axis of these three cover door methods, it can also be named straight arm (straight bend) hinge, half bend (middle bend) hinge, and large bend hinge.
Understanding this change is also very simple, when the door plate is opened and closed parallel to the side plate, the greater the difference between the hinge cup and the side plate, the greater the degree of bending.
The bending of the connecting shaft can affect the way of the cover door, and the length of the connecting shaft can also be.
The length of the connecting shaft can be divided into short arm and long arm hinges, short arm hinges can be used on the narrow side plate.
The long arm hinge allows the door panel to cover more area of the side panel, such as more than 30mm.
When you encounter uncommon installation methods, you can't make the distinction, such as parallel installation of the cabinet door, the connection shaft part looks very straight, but it can't be called a straight-arm hinge.
Of course, you can still call it a parallel hinge according to the way the door panel is installed, and others will know what you are talking about.
If you want to name it after the characteristics of the hinge, you need to use the concept of Angle.
Angle
The Angle of the hinge is divided into a closing Angle and an opening and closing Angle.
To facilitate everyone's understanding, I called the side with the hinge inside, routine installation, when the door is closed state of the inner panel is the base plane, and the panel and the base plane will form an Angle, this Angle is the characteristics of the hinge.
The change of Angle can be used to distinguish the type of shaped installation hinge, the reading to the inside tilt is negative, and the reading to the outside tilt is positive, so we see that the hinge has positive and negative points, such as parallel hinges can also be called +90° hinges.
Understanding the positive and negative relationship, after knowing the positive and negative Angle of the hinge, you can easily infer the installation of the door panel, such as -45° hinge and +30° hinge.
If there is no positive or negative Angle in the hinge name, there is a single number, then it refers to the opening and closing Angle.
For example, 165° hinges refer to the maximum opening and closing Angle of the door panel of 165°, while the conventional opening and closing Angle is only 90°.
Here note that the 135° hinge, belongs to the linkage door special, after the linkage door is installed, when the door panel is closed, the hinge can only open and close 45° at most, it does not seem to meet the definition of opening and closing Angle.
Still consistent, the linkage door closed, but not the 135° hinge closed state, it should be closed like this, that is, and the side panel (another door) level.
So the opening and closing Angle is 135 degrees.
Feature
The damping of the hinge, the first force, the second force, etc., are all functions that the hinge provides in addition to the connection.
If the hinge only provides the connection function in the process of opening and closing the door plate, without any additional functions, the opening and closing state of the door plate is completely controlled by external forces, it is often said that the weak hinge.
It can be used with a bouncer to do a no-pull design, and the force of the bouncer can be better fed back to the door panel.
The damper hinge is a hinge with a damper, and the damper provides the resistance of movement to achieve the effect of shock absorption and buffering.
So the question is, if you remove the damper, does it turn into a weak hinge?
The answer is no, here involves the principle of a force and two forces, if it is a weak hinge, the hinge itself does not have any binding force, and the cabinet shaking or wind blowing will make the door turn, so to keep the door to maintain a stable opening and closing state, the hinge will have a built-in elastic device, generally a spring.
A force can only hover at a fixed Angle, and outside this Angle, it is either closed or fully open, because a force has only one unilateral spring structure.
The spring only stays at rest when there is no force on it or when the internal and external forces are in balance, otherwise, it will continue to deform until the internal and external forces are in balance.
In a certain range, there is a linear relationship between the shape variable of the spring and the spring force, so there is only a balance point in the opening and closing process of a force hinge (not fully closed and fully open state).
The two-stage force hinge has a more precise structure than the first-stage force, and the means of realization by various manufacturers are not the same, simply speaking, the hinge has a wider hovering Angle, such as the realization of 45°-110° free hovering.
If the two-stage force hinge also has a small Angle buffer technology, for example, when the opening and closing Angle is only 10° or less, the door plate closure also has a buffer effect, some people will call it a three-stage force hinge or full damping.
There is a rebound hinge, a rebound hinge because it needs to be pressed to open, so it does not self-closing function and must be used with rebound fasteners.
The hinge looks very ordinary, but it is a very precise structure, the higher the high-end hinge, the higher the integration, the more powerful.
For example, the adjustable damping hinge can be adjusted according to the width and narrowness of the door panel, so that it can achieve a suitable buffer speed, and small Angle buffer, opening force, hovering effect, and adjustment dimension, there is also a gap between different hinges.
Installation mode
The installation of the hinge is divided into three kinds: solid installation, dismounting (quick disassembly), and no punching.
The hinged head, body, and base three parts can not be separated is the fixed hinge, the base can be removed is the release hinge.
The perforation-free hinge does not take the glue without punching but does not need to punch the cup hole, because the hinge head of the perforation-free hinge is not cup-shaped.
The detailed installation method and adjustment method are not much to say here, and the manufacturer will complete the installation instructions for each hinge, and install it on the opposite side.
