PVC sheet welding tools/raw materials
Welding gun (hot air gun), PVC welding rod, knife set, cotton cloth, and two PVC plates to be welded.
The operation process is as follows:
The first step is to make preparations and wipe the welded area clean with a clean cotton cloth. There must be no oil, dust, or board lint. Adjust the temperature of the welding gun to between 3 - 3.5(The welding temperature of PVC materials is slightly lower than the welding temperature of PP materials)
Then you need to take the welding rod, sharpen it with a knife set, and slowly blow down the welding rod from left to right with a welding gun. When the welding rod becomes a little soft, use a welding gun to blow the joint of the two water pipes to evenly heat it until the temperature of the welding rod plate is about the same. At this time, they are brought closer together, and the welding gun is slowly heated, causing the welding rod to melt at the joint.
It should be noted that the welding gun and the object to be welded are at a 45-degree angle. Observe with your eyes whether there are seams where the PVC electrode has been welded and whether there are false welds. If the plate to be welded is not melted, slow down the left and right swing speed and forward speed of the welding gun. If the welding is too melted, speed up the speed of the welding gun. Just keep the whole thing moving forward at a constant speed until the welding is finished, and then use the set of knives to cut off the welding rod. Be careful not to use too much force with your hands when welding. Too much force will make you easily fatigued. Not too light either. If it is too light, the welding may not be tight and the bonding may not be strong.
Analysis of the causes of cracking of plastic electrodes after welding:
1. The welding rod is not pressed down when welding, and the welding rod stretches too much.
2. The quality of the welding rod is not good.
3. The temperature is not well controlled.
4. Welder technical issues.
