PPR Water Pipe Pressure Specifications

Oct 13, 2025

PPR water pipes are divided into cold water pipes and hot water pipes. These pipes have different pressure ratings, specifications, and functions.

PPR water pipes can be divided into cold water pipes and hot water pipes, each with different pressure ratings. Cold water pipes are generally rated at 1.25 MPa and 1.6 MPa, while hot water pipes are rated at 2.0 MPa and 2.5 MPa. Hot water pipes have higher pressure ratings than cold water pipes, primarily because higher temperatures increase pressure, necessitating a higher pressure rating for the material. Considering that many water pipes are now used for both hot and cold water, 2.0 MPa hot water pipes are generally more practical and cost-effective. For high-pressure applications, 2.5 MPa hot water pipes may be considered. If hot water is not required, cold water pipes can offer further cost savings.

PPR Water Pipe Specifications

PPR pipe specifications vary widely, but the market generally uses the nominal outer diameter (dn: mm) as the standard. Common PPR pipe sizes include: 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 75, 90, 110, and 160. When purchasing, you can choose according to your actual needs. Of course, the larger the outer diameter, the more material is needed per meter of pipe, and the higher the cost. It is sufficient to meet your needs. There is no need to choose large outer-diameter water pipes.
